I did it. I finished all of the Harry Potter books currently available. I just finished up with Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J.K. Rowling. I enjoyed this one, it added more to the mythos and left plenty of questions to be answered in the last book. Highly recommend the whole series.
I wasn’t crazy about J.K. Rowling’s 5th installment, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. The whole tone of the book is just not my thing, way to oppressive. That being said, it was pretty dense and offered insight into the world and the final 2 books.
I wanted to finish Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling before the movie came out and I did, go me! I enjoyed this one as well but as the author indicated, this movie is definitely more intense than the previous 3 books. It’s well crafted and worth the read.
I finished Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling. Okay this time I realized how much is left out of the film. While faithful, you really don’t get the details that I think really add to the story as well as the background of the character of Harry Potter. I really liked this one.
I finished Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling and was again surprised at how faithful the films are the books. That being said, I have also realized the amount left out, the feel of the world is definitely missing as is the humor and warmth of the Weasley family. Enjoyable.
